Hi {{first name | friend}},

“So, what do you do as a business owner?”

Watch what happens to you at dinner when someone asks you this in person.

Your eyes light up, you are electric. Ninety seconds, no notes, a joke in the middle, and you land the whole thing before the appetizers arrive.

The people who are seated around you get it immediately. You sound like a woman really who knows her stuff. Because you do!

Now sit that exact woman down in front of a blank document and ask her to write the About page for her business.

Out comes: "I help ambitious entrepreneurs unlock their full potential through strategic solutions."

Um…Who is that? Where did she come from and why is she so boring? She was demonstrably not at dinner.

HERE IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TYPE

There is a small internal, judgemental committee that convenes the second your fingers hit a keyboard.

You’re the creative one. You type half a sentence. It sits there looking undercooked. The committee reviews it.

Somebody suggests "leverage." You wonder if adding a joke would be good here. Somebody else suggests a joke may read as unprofessional.

A qualifying clause is proposed and approved unanimously without you.

Your actual point is relocated to paragraph three where nobody read it.

By the time you finish the draft, the committee has sanded every interesting edge off, and you have forgotten what you sat down to say in the first place.

The committee can only do this because typing is slow enough for them to keep pace with you, the creative genius.

HOWEVER, when you talk out loud, they cannot keep up. You are moving too fast. They are still back at sentence one debating "gutted" versus "disappointed" while you are three points ahead with your personality entirely intact.

  • This is why your voice memos are better than your typed drafts.

  • It is why the caption you fired off in thirty seconds outperformed the one you rewrote four times and then regretted.

And it is a decent chunk of why so much content right now reads like it went through a personality polishing machine and came out technically correct and completely boring.

Your audience clocks it instantly.

They do not know why they scrolled. They just did.

SO HERE IS THE FIX

I found a tool that provides voice dictation that simply handles this.

Yes, I’m sure you have tried built-in dictation before. Everyone has. It faithfully transcribes every "um," every false start, and jumbles up and makes up words you never said.

Then you spend eight minutes cleaning up the transcript, which is more work than typing, and gets you back into the room with that annoying internal judgy committee, which is why you abandoned it years ago and never looked back.

But with this tool, it writes what you meant, not what you literally said. Ramble. Pause. Change your mind mid-sentence.

What lands on screen is clean, punctuated, properly formatted text that reads like you wrote it, not like you dictated it.

The filler is gone. The corrections are resolved. The false starts never make it out of the building.

It learns your vocabulary, which matters more than it sounds.

Client names, brand names, the specific jargon of your niche, all the words other dictation tools reliably render as gibberish.

It gets them right and improves the more you use it.

And it adapts to context, so a Slack message comes out looking like a Slack message and an email comes out looking like an email!
