Hi {{ first_name | }}
A few years ago my landlord told me they were going to increase my rent by a couple hundred dollars each month.
Obviously, I was not amused by this.

So I sent a short email that not only resulted in them freezing my current rent, but they also agreed to keep it frozen for 2 more years.
No dramatic begging, no awkward phone call, just a polite-but-confident email.
Feeling bold, I called up my Internet provider and decided to see if I could shave off a few dollars from my monthly bill. That worked, too.
Then it hit me: most of us are leaving money on the table everywhere because we’re scared to ask.
So today, I’m giving you a few plug-and-play scripts to help you negotiate—whether it’s your Wi-Fi bill, your apartment rent, or a brand deal.
✨ For your Internet provider:
Subject: Question about my plan
“Hi [Name], I’ve been a loyal customer for [X years] and noticed new customers are being offered [better price/package]. I also see that [competitor name] is offering a cheaper price for my same plan. Could you let me know if I qualify for that same rate, oandr if there are retention offers available? Thanks for your help!”
✨ For your landlord:
Subject: Lease renewal
“Hi [Name], my lease is coming up for renewal and I’d love to stay. That said, I’ve noticed similar units in the area are renting for [X amount], and see that in the past year, rent prices in this area have come down by about [% - link to news article that mentions this data]. Other newer buildings are offering move-in incentives as well. As someone who has been a great tenant, always having paid my rent on time and in full, I am requesting that my rent not be increased upon renewal, and be frozen at this current price for the next two years. This guarantees you continue to have a responsible, clean and quiet tenant, while receiving rent hat reflects the current market. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.”
✨ For a brand you promote as an affiliate:
Subject: Commission rate
“Hi [Name], I love promoting [Brand/Product] and have been seeing great engagement from my audience. I’d like to continue growing this partnership and was wondering if there’s room to increase my commission rate from [X%] to [Y%]. I have recently [state some performance data that is attractive, like increased number of followers/subscribers in past year, clicks, campaign ideas, etc]. I have also noticed that [Brand’s competitor] offers a higher commission to partners, but I’d like to stay promoting your product, just with a preferred rate. Excited to keep working together!”
The secret here?
You’re not begging. You’re showing up as a professional, presenting facts, and inviting them to say yes. While at the same time reminding them that they aren’t the only show in town and you can easily take your business elsewhere.
Here’s the fun part: even if only one out of three emails gets a positive response, that’s money you didn’t have yesterday—all for the cost of hitting “send.”
👉 If you enjoy life hacks like this, and you love earning more money in general, then you won’t want to miss this special 3-day virtual event that’s happening this week! The itinerary is a great mix of training to help you with goals and self-improvement, as well as wealth-building, business ideas, and social media tips.
^ that link gives you a free ticket to the entire event! And you can watch from the comfort of home.
P.S. Imagine the power move of emailing a brand AND your Internet provider in the same morning and getting two “yes!” responses.
That’s the boss energy we love seeing.
