Hi {{ first_name | }}

Last week, I finally got around to testing YouTube’s in-app affiliate program.

It’s pretty cool! Have you used it yet?

I found it to be pretty easy to tag products, and I like that you can tag multiple products throughout a video.

I will need to spend a bit more time with it (and get more views) before I make any significant commissions from it, but I can see the potential.

Other things popping in the creator economy this week:

  • Instagram is testing "lock" and "early access" features that would let creators gate content for followers, which is basically Instagram admitting that gated content is the future. (source: WPP Media)

  • YouTube expanded its creator monetization ecosystem in February with new AI-powered content creation tools that allow creators to generate Shorts using AI versions of their own likeness, as well as produce games and music via text prompts.

  • 56% of Gen Z now considers creator content more relevant than TV or film, and 41% use social platforms as their primary search engine. Social IS search now. Optimize accordingly. (Source: Backstroke)

  • AI Influencers are a $6 billion industry growing at over 40% annually, projected to hit $46 billion by 2030. (Source: Grand View Research)
